What is Canoe Sprint?

Canoe sprint is a water sport racing in which the athletes drive the canoes with the help of single-bladed paddle on calm water. The sport some times referred as Flat water racing and has been the traditional form of racing since the establishment. Besides, one can perform this activity during a breezy weather to get acquire recreational feelings and exploring the exquisite sceneries. The objective of the game is that the athletes should complete the straight course in the shortest time. The athlete who crosses the finish line earlier than other contestants is stated as winner.

History:

The sport was originated in North America, Serbia and Green land and the canoe was used primarily for the transportation, fishing, trade and warfare. Gradually this activity became the sport in mid 19th century. Later the sport draws the attraction from many people making the popular sport all over the Europe countries. Eventually, the sport features at the Berlin Olympic Games in 1936.
