India is a country positioned in the southern central part of the Asian continent. It covers both the Northern and Eastern hemispheres. This country is bordered by other nations like China, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and the two seas namely Arabian Sea and Pacific Sea. The name “INDIA” is originated from the Indus river.This is the second most country across the globe having the massive population of about 1.2 billion followed by china.

The country encompasses 28 states and 7 Union territories There are 22 official languages in the country and Hindi, the most extensively spoken language. Yet there are other languages like Bengali, Telugu, Marathi and Tamil are also spoken by many people.The leading metropolitan cities in India are Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Banglore. These metropolis are prominent for their monetary, technological, political and traditional centre of the nation.

The Republic of India has some official symbols include animal (Bengal Tiger), bird (Peacock), flower (Lotus) and sport (Hockey).

New Delhi is the capital city of India since 1931 and Mumbai is the financial capital city of India.Surprisingly, Kolkata (Calcutta) was the capital of India during the rule of Britishers between the late 19th century and early 20th century.
